First Harley was a 2004 Road King Custom with a carb. I loved this bike and took great care until I mistakenly underestimated the scope of the flooding that would be caused by Tropical Storm Sandy. After thirty years and one day of being high and dry my home and all of my neighbors suffered devastation. I had brought the bike to high ground on many occasions when the weatherman predicted a false alarm flood alert. Not this time.
First Harley.... 73 Harley 90, I was in grade school.
First real Harley (for those that say the 90 does not count) 94 EVO hard tail (miss this bike)....
I don't think my dad has any pictures of the 90...
Had to camp out in the dealer parking lot overnight in June of '94 to be the second person in the door to put a deposit on it. Took delivery in November.
1989 Sportster 883 Deluxe. The day after the (soon to be ex) and I signed the separation agreement, and I paid her the money she demanded, I emptied the rest of the bank account, took every last penny I had in the world and my 1982 Yamaha XJ650R to the Harley dealer and traded them for it.
I rode that bike for five years and put 41,000 miles on it. Traded it in '03 for the bike I have now.
That's right, I've only owned two Harleys in the last 28 years.
First Harley was a 2005 Dyna Super Glide 88ci fuel injected. Made a lot of changes into that bike. Sold it after my divorce and moved onto what I have now as a gift to myself for starting over. Changes to it are still evolving.
Shortly after moving out to CA, I decided to take up motorcycle riding at the age of 26. First bike was a '04 Sporty bought in 2007. Parked it in the living room during the winter. Put a drip pan under it because at the time, I thought all Harleys leaked (it never did).
