Default Swapping out fender arms on 94 heritage

Hi guys

I recently bought a 94 heritage softail and will be removing the bags this weekend. I have noticed on a few other posts where people have removed these that there are some big ugly bolts hiding underneath that stick out!

I am not overly fussed about running with bags and wondered if I can completed remove the bolts with no problems or if I can even swap out the fender support arms and change them to those from the basic softail so there aren't any big gaping holes?

Any help would be very much appreciated

You can completely remove the fender rail bolts that support the saddlebags. They bolt into a bracket on the inside of the fender. When you remove the bolts, the bracket may fall out.

Like Glyder54 mentioned, just replace the bolts. I used these. If I recall correctly, I may have had to cut a bolt down in length.

It's been a while for me. I ride with the bags on all the time now.
