Default Installed Fangs, Wow! What a difference

I am 6' tall with a 16" windshield on my 07 Heritage. I believe it is the right height for me to see over and still deflect wind over my head but I still had severe buffeting hitting me right in the eyes when at highway speeds, Enough to effect my vision, even with goggles, to the point it made riding at high speed very uncomfortable and potentially dangerous. After reading several posts and looking at several products I purchased and installed the HD "Fangs" front fork wind deflectors. I just finished my first ride and couldn't believe the difference. Buffeting is virtually gone even over 75 MPH.
I can enjoy highway riding much more now. I admit I am not crazy about the look but I will live with for the comfort. Best HD "Hundred Dollars" I have spent on accessories so far.

I experienced the same thing with my 04 King. I loved how effective they were but wasn't really digging the look. After riding with them installed for several thousand mile I decided to take them off. That lasted for one short ride and they went back on. And stayed on. My comfort while riding is exponentially more important than how I look while riding. And like you said, it could potentially be a safety issue.

I'm a Believer! I had em on my Road King and I've got em on my '17 Street Glide. These things work!

I've had these on my bikes as far back as my '92 Heritage and then continued installing them on my '95 Heritage, my '96 RK, my wife's '99 and '08 Heritage, my '00 Ultra and my '13 CVO Ultra.
Fact is, the only bike that I didn't put them on is my prized '98 Heritage Anniversary Springer, though I have seen them on a few Springer's before.

I've always told people that if you want to see how much of a difference that they will make on your Heritage or RK, do this little "experiment" first.

Get on your bike and drive down the (preferably quiet road or street) at 45+MPH and feel the amount of wind on your chest and face.
Then, cross your left arm horizontally across your chest and feel the difference.

It may just be my opinion but I don't believe that they're as beneficial on a bike with lower fairings, but I do like the extra chrome appearance that they give the front of any bike, and especially so the bikes that have chrome front forks.

I just put some on my street glide, makes a difference with the buffeting I got from below, and I don't think they look too bad, on black they kind of disappear unless you're looking head on from the front.

Funny you should bring this up. I just got a set installed yesterday. Night and day difference. I'll never have a bike without them. Only downside is that you feel a little more heat.

I had a set and took them off because I felt they were blocking airflow over the engine. I was riding in moderate traffic on an 80 degree day and my bike went into parade mode. It had never done that before and hasn't done it since in much hotter conditions. Anybody else have that problem or was it just a fluke. I still have them but I'm hesitant to put them back on.

I have them on a 2010 and 2014 Limited. And agree that I would not ride without them. No heat issues with going in to limp mode in traffic. One of if not the best mod.
