Default 2018 Softails - new rear monoshock

Well this is quite a change for 2018.
Will this be the end of Shotgun and similar air ride units?

At a quick glance, seems the entire rear frame needs to be undone to get that out

I suspect in time that Shotgun Shocks will come out with possibly a new design.

No worries to those who have the existing Shotgun Shock design since it comes will a lifetime warranty and is thought to be supported forever......unless the company goes out of business.

Like other companies such as "Wards Fans", the lifetime warranty is great as long as the company will answer the phone.
This is why you should only put so much weight on a warranty.

To me it looks like you take this bracket off and then it will slide out once un bolted from either end

I'm betting you're right.
There now appears to be some sort of access panel where the oil tank was...
