Hi Guys

So Initially I planned to black out my 2014 Slim (just as from catalog) so I purchased black SE mufflers and heat shield off eBay. After thinking about my initial plan I noticed that unconsciously I am leaning into idea of using combination of blacked out components and chrome/raw aluminum accents. Well seller of heat shield in black backed down and now I am stuck with black mufflers only so I consider using what I got and install black mufflers with chrome headers.

Wondering what you guys think about this and if anyone did that this way?

Everything blacked out is what many Slim owners are doing these days but might be too dark for me. Me initially being chrome guy (my sportswear is all chromed out) I thought adding a bit sparkle here and there in some organized manner might help me to create something unique. My bike is grey so It would be combination of gray color and black and chrome/aluminum accents.

One advantage of this is Parts availability might be better.

Now I try to make my mind on exhaust system as this will most likely dictate later developments of my idea.

Well new black mufflers are lying in my closet for now so not so much to show for but below pix is closest to my idea (sorry for quality). For now my bike is 100% stock.

Here is my additional question. I found another blacked out heatshield but it is gloss black and said it came from 2014 HD Fatboy Slim (which only asure me seller has no clue whats up) so my question is does any Softail Slim came out with gloss heatshield? I know Fatboy did but looking at pix looks like this is in fact Slim heat shield is different from Fatboy as lower pipe is rised up.

Do you guys think this is really Slim shield? Looks like it to me

Saw a setup like it the other day and thought it was just wrong, so did everyone else I was with. We wondered if the owner bought the wrong pipes and put them on regardless.

 

Hahahaha thats exactly where I stand hahahaha I guess I need to find this heatshield now or buy heat resistant black spray and go balistic on this whole pipes have this mufflers on ebay and will let it go cheap if anyone anything let me know. Now i need one member that want to go dark on their ride
