Default Ditched the Dunnies for Michelins

I have been a loyal fan of the E3s on my 2005 Ultra for years, but was intrigued by the extended mileage claim of the Commander IIs. So today I made the switch -- and immediately noticed a significant improvement in ride quality. Yes, I know new tires always feel better than the old, but I rode several roads on the way home that I am familiar with, and the road feel, expansion joints, and road imperfections are muted and overall feel of the bike greatly improved. Now to see about that mileage claim........

this go around I will have 2 comm. II at the same time. need new rear and front. with just rear the bike performed better (Imo) in tightish turns. It took out most of the wiggle in the rear. can't wait to get both on there, hell my 07 sg may ride like a new one. sorry did not keep record on mileage. will do that this time.
kroozeabout.

I have noticed improved feel for the road and dampening of minor road surface imperfections with the Comm II's. what prompted your return to E3's?

Went from stockers to CII's. It's like riding a completely different, and better, motorcycle.

Thought I read somewhere that the Commander II was not the best performer on wet roads and tar snakes, any one one else heard that? May be just during break in period

The ride quality of the C II otherwise seems favored by many

I didn’t feel the improvements over the E3, the mileage is also better for me on the E3. Overall for me the E3 works better, more compliant on tar snakes and road imperfections.
Good thing is, there are many choices for us.

This is a true statement in my experience with them. I've got a little over 10k miles on a set and probably about 3-5k miles of tread life left. But they are cupped. Not a fan at all.

Rode through heavy rains for three solid days, including this monsoon for one of the days, on a CII front tire. Had zero issues. Rock solid.

I've got almost 15K on a set and they aren't close to the wear bars yet.
