Default Well Crap - Messed up Heated Grips???

Well I installed the new Monkey Bars week before last. Everything went well and looks great. I guess I tested everything except the heated grips. Turned them on during a short ride a couple of days ago and NOTHING!

I pulled the outer fairing off and all connections look good and are connected.

There are the two Black/white wires that plug into each other and the Black/Violet wire connector that is on the lower left side of fairing if sitting on the bike looking forward that plugs into the Black/Red connector.

Pulled the end cap off the throttle and it was connected. I pulled it out and inspected the pins. All looked good and reinstalled it.

Pulled the left side cover off and inspected the fuse. All good there.

I can only assume that I damaged a wire inside the bars pulling them through.

New bike but I am not going to take it to the dealer for something I messed up. They did work fine with I bought the bike last month.

Not sure where to start trouble shooting? Any suggestions?

Thanks

When I first installed mine they didn't work. A pin in the connector was not inserted properly, so it wasn't making contact with the mate. I removed it and reseated it in the connector and all is well.

Mine didn't work, bit it was the throttle side pins, so you already checked that, , maybe check for power at the grips

Update

I tried going through the trouble shooting list above. Looks like the throttle side grip is good as well as the wiring on the throttle side. Never could actually determine if the left main control side was the problem?

Bottom line is the CVO grips are STUPID EXPENSIVE. Frankly not worth it to me as they were extremely uncomfortable to my small hands. They actually are smaller in diameter on the outside edge and taper larger toward to switch controls. I really liked the standard black grips on the 2016 Limited I had and they are half the price.

So I made the decision to replace with the standard and I'm very happy with the results.

It seemed harder the second time around pulling the wires though the Yaffe Monkey Bars but she is complete, the new grips HEAT up perfectly and they are comfortable!!!

One interesting Fact:

On the 2016 it was difficult to connect the main wire from the left side to the power in the lower left of the fairing. It took some effort and as tight. That was with WO578 Bars.

When I first installed the 10 Inch Yaffe's with the CVO grips they had far more cable length and reached the power connector without issue.

Now this time with the standard Limited grips again they were short. I had to clip cable ties and pull the power connection as far as possible to make the connection.

I have never looked into an extension for the heated grips but if I did it again I would.

Thanks for all help and replies!

When I did mine I found one side of the fuse holder was crimped only on the plastic and not the stripped wire into the metal part of the connector. It had pulled out and therefor no power. Redid the fuse holder and soldered both sides of it
