Default 83' Sportster

Whats going on Guys and Gals. Just wanted to give an update on my 1983 XLH1000. I got her from my father and it had sat in a garage for about 20 years. i got her running with some hiccups along the way. last parts to make her road worthy should be in tomorrow afternoon Here are some pictures that i have starting when she was drug off the trailer to now.

update

"new tank" and just put new gaskets on the primary chain cover and checked the clutch and chain.

Cool old school scoot! Mine is a 75 and almost got it back together for a maiden ride!

Thank you, I took her out yesterday, a couple hiccups but she's running good, few adjustments to the clutch and carb still need to be made

Nice transformation Spatzw

Good to see an Ironhead thread....here is my work in progress 1980 XLH1000. All original except for 3 mods - relocated oil filter from behind the rear cylinder under the seat to the front, replace plastic gas inlet to brass, and relocated gear case vent hose under the bike. All three mods are good mods so they will remain but will replace original vent hose to AC.







Close to getting her to passing state safety check....so I can get her licensed and on the road.
