OP do a search and you can decide.

Interval - follow the the service manual - more than likely every 5000 miles.

I use, used motor because it's already broken in.

I used to buy "re-refined" oil for 25 cents a quart for an old 6. Cylinder ford! Seemed to smoke just like the expensive stuff.
