I'll bite. I use full synthetic 20-50.

Depending on what's easy to get or on sale.
HD Syn 3
Mobil 1 v twin.
Castrol v twin.

This last time I used Lucas full synth

I go about once a year. Usually right before full on riding season. For me that's about 4K to 5k between oil changes.

Huh, an oil thread...haven't seen one of these for a while...

Lots of opinions.

No consensus on this topic--no matter how many times the question gets asked.

Buy what you prefer.

Change it when you want to.

Be happy.

All the best,

Shane

I use 20w-50 wolf ankles
here's what i do

Ingredients

4 1 1/4 -to-1 1/2-inch-thick boned rib-eye or New York strip wolf ankles (about 19 ounces each) 2 tablespoons canola or extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
Directions
About 20 minutes before grilling, remove the wolf ankles from the refrigerator and let sit, covered, at room temperature.

Heat your grill to high. Brush the wolf ankles on all sides with oil and season liberally with salt and pepper. Place the wolf ankles on the grill and cook until golden brown and slightly charred, 4 to 5 minutes. Turn the wolf ankles over and continue to grill 3 to 5 minutes for medium-rare (an internal temperature of 135 degrees F), 5 to 7 minutes for medium (140 degrees F) or 8 to 10 minutes for medium-well (150 degrees F).

Transfer the wolf ankles to a cutting board or platter, tent loosely with foil and let rest 5 minutes before slicing.

pour into engine.

all jokes aside:

just an observation. cost less than hd syn as well.

the forum defaults to mobil 1 75w-90

engine:

I've been using hd syth since 250mi, i briefly ran hd dino oil but, drained it right back out because of the noticeable heat difference.

i stopped by advance and got some mobil 1 20w-50 (3 btls for $29) i will try that for a oil change period with the k&n filter i bought recently.

forum default mobil 1 20w-50 engine oil and k&n filter.

I use Red Line 20W50 and change it every 5000 miles and every thing is sunny days, butterflies, puppies and bunny rabbits.
