Default Do saddlebag speakers add considerably more audio enjoyment over stock fairing speakers?

Hey guys, contemplating factory color match saddlebag lids with speakers and wondering if it's worth the additional expense. I mostly ride solo so I'm more concerned with how it enhances the riders enjoyment. Thank you for your thoughts.

First, check out the audio section of the forum. Second, upgrade the front first. You might save yourself some money. Bag lids add some rear fill, but quickly drown out with speed. On the highway I can hear mine if I lean back and turn my head. Sometimes I think their not working, but it's just that they're not as noticeable at speeds over 45+. Better wind management adds to the sound quality and volume coming from the fairing.

Absolutely not!!!
I have 6x9's and Biketronics speakers and amp and a Sony Headunit.

In my garage, they sound awesome. But on the highway, I don't even know that they're on.
Also, its a PITA when its raining or I want to wash the bike.

To be honest, knowing what I now know, I would never have upgraded my stereo but would have left it stock.

So, unless you're playing your tunes in a garage, save your money on saddlebag speakers.

Default Fairing speakers

Upgrade your fairing speakersfirst to 6 1/2 inch. Buy high quality. I put 6 1/2 JL audio in the fairing. They are great with the stock head unit. I feel no need to do anything else.

Speaker size Adapters are dirt cheap on eBay .

Just depends on what's more important to you. The ride. Or the music.

A few years ago, I bought some waterproof lid covers from someone off of ebay. I always keep them in the bags. I've been in some serious rainfall and they've done a great job of keeping the speakers dry. I also use them when washing the bike.

It looks like leather but its not.

If the bag speakers are as horrible as tour pack speakers. Save your money. Get upgraded fairing speakers and an amp. I couldn't hear my tour pack speakers. At all.

I got a set of these just today. What adapters are needed? I haven't taken anything apart yet.

did you get 6 1/2" ? 5 1/4 is the stock speaker size.
If so, you'll need 5 1/4 to 6 1/2 adapter mounting rings. I got mine on eBay for 6or 8 bucks . Very easy install. Remove stock speakers, install adapters in their place, attach new speakers to adapters.
