Default At It Again

Yeah I've been at it again, but it hasn't been my day. I got a very nice set of 2015 touring mufflers with only 35 miles on them from uncle kebo for a very fair price. So off comes the cobra speedsters and the first thing I do is pull the threads off of one 02 sensor, while unscrewing it, and while I'm removing the the other sensor i notice a broken wire broke right at the sensor, so no taping it back together. One and a half hours later I'm at Ft worth Harley Davidson buying not one but two brand new 02 sensors. A hundred and seventeen dollars and some jingle late,r I'm headed back home with with two sensors and a sore billfold. When I got home the sun was going down , so I decided to wait till tomorrow, it has got to be a better day, than today. After I get every thing switched out I think I'll finally be happy once and for all, but it seams like the grass is always greener on the other side. All I'm after now is quiet performance.

Unfortunately it almost seems the two are mutually exclusive - with Harleys anyway.

Whenever I put my stock mufflers back on I immediately notice a drop in power. It basically feels choked off.

I hope you have better results.

Changing pipes...I can't seem to avoid it either. At least not on the newer bikes. Bright side is maybe you'll find some peace, worst case is you swap them again. At least it's kind of entertaining to hear/feel the differences.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I think as a general rule none of us are ever truly "happy" with our bikes. At least not me. As soon as I make that change that I have been pondering, something else that just has to be changed seems to get in my head. Its a never ending cycle.

The time before this I used Twin cam 88 mufflers and I got that same feeling, but this time I'm using twin cam 103 mufflers, and I'm hoping for better results.

I didn't think your bike was that loud, Kevin. But if it's performance over sound that you're going for, then that's the way to go.

if you find that the stock mufflers are too restrictive, you could always try the fullsac oem recore. 2.0 would be the quietist.
