Default New cylinders sump report

good morning all, thought I would share some of my information I have been recording on my 117 build.

2017 street glide previous setup was power vision and s&s cam, Harley drop in intake and slip ons. Bike would go through periods during riding where it got extremely sluggish. Constantly draining oil from the cps port.

New build, cylinders 4.125, cp pistons with fitted ring gaps per cylinder, cometic gaskets ,475 cam, adj rods, s&s breather, revised oil pump, new Harley cam plate and oil pump plate with seal. Did 4 heat cycles and put 50 miles on it with a wide range of rpm and some good engine braking. No idling pulled straight on lift and dropped cps and measured 1/2 oz.

lastnight I put 120 miles on it using different rpms and still a decent amount of engine braking followed with some 2k-4500k half throttle pulls and also some 3-3500 higher riding. Pulled back into lift and dropped cps 3/4 oz drained. Long story short I know it’s not a lot of miles so far but I can honestly say I have some faith in the oil pump plate with seal from Harley.

It’s set up at 10.75:1, I do notice it is alittle more heavy on start up vs the stock setup.

Is the 117 bore from your stock cylinders?

Yes used my stock cylinders, machined some torque plates and got the cylinders bored once the pistons came in.

Still waiting on my pump plate and seal and adjustable rockers. Hope these two upgrades will quieten down my rattle trap.

Well I have two threads going on but I figured I’d update on this one, just brought the bike back from another 50 miles ride tonight, I’ve been hearing a slight ticking noise so today I threw in a new set of lifters before taking it back out. Lifter did not solve the issue so I checked the topend and everything looked great and plenty of oil on each rocker. So I decided to take the cam chest back apart and here’s where I’m at (see pictures) any idea what I did wrong? Bike was still pumping oil threw cylinder oil cross over and filter. I followed the oil pump torque and rotation per the manual during install and have never felt any binding.

May be a dumb question, but did you follow the latest cam plate install procedure? They’ve updated the sequence I believe. It looks all the world like an alignment issue with the race fractured... One more thing I can think of - with the jugs off, did you check the oilers?

Luck, man. I feel for you.
