Looking to trade my bike in
Hey everyone , wanted opinions. Looking to trade my Harley rocker c in. It’s 2009 only 7300 mikes on it. Dealer is giving me 7500 for it. I’m getting a 2007 road king classic with 9200 mikes. I’m good shape.they want 10200 for it. Just wondering if that’s a good deal. I hate to part with my bike as it is but wife can’t ride on the rocker . Any input would be helpful. Thank you

Definatley haven’t road it enough. After getting married and now 2 young kids it was hard to get out on it. But wife likes to ride so looking to get something a little better for her to sit on so we can do some long trips. Just wanted some info. Thanks for your input . I think I could get more for my rocker than 7500

how many miles is enough miles to 'justify' keeping a bike?
we don't know his situation, maybe he works a job that doesn't allow him much time off, but he gets a nice vacation every year. and then again, if he does ride just 2 miles per day, maybe he really enjoys those miles. it isn't our place to judge how or when he uses his bike. he obviously feels he gets enough out of it to have it. and apparently, he is aware of his limitations, and isn't buying a brand new 2019 to ride those 2 miles.
for that price though, I would think that you'd be able to get a newer model bike. personally, I would look for something newer. 2009 up gets you the new frame. 2014 gets you the rushmore improvements.
kbb lists trade in value at $8450. I know dealers don't use kbb, but I've always managed to get somewhere near that without getting hammered on the price of the new bike.

You would think that....BUT...the market sucks...$7450 is low retail on NADA...
The last 09 Rocker C that sold on ebay went for $8801...after you take out all the fees from ebay and paypal... not much difference
It is a buyers market...how much trouble do you want to go through for another grand?

Lets understand the dealer has to and will make money on every deal, period. Now lets peel this deal apart..
a. The Rocker trade in - The dealer is offering you FAIR value. Back out potential Ebay fees, people coming to your door, and the tax diff - actually its a nice trade value
b. The RK is about 1000.00 over reality pricing PROVIDED the dealer did ALL the need M&R work and you have good tires with >60% tread and a recent battery.
Good luck!

Well, in my area, let's just say as kindly as I can, the Rocker didn't exactly set sales record for Harley. Unless it was a "lack of sales" record. In all the years since they were first available, I've seen exactly ONE on the road. Dealer may realize that the Rocker is gonna be tough to re-sell, so he's offering you the bottom trade-in value. Also agree the RK is about $1,000 too high....here's a nice 2009 at a local dealer for less.....
