Default Size UHaul Trailer for Touring Bike?

Any idea the best size for a touring bike? I need a trailer to pickup a road glide. Was thinking 5' x 9' Utility Trailer with Ramp..

Thanks

U-haul has a trailer specifically designed to haul a bike. It has a ramp, chock and properly spaced tie-down points. That's the one I'd get (and have gotten).

^^^THIS. My neighbor and I each rented one earlier this year for our bucket list trip… we covered almost 4,700 miles (I rode my bike about 2,000 of it), and they worked great. My bike is a ‘19 CVO Limited, and his is a ‘15 CVO RG.

Trailers we’re just under $15/day, and they worked great.

Scott your link is not the Uhaul trailer in the pictures,it’s the 5x9 Utility Trailer with a Ramp. I’ve used this one when we moved from ATL to Florida and the 13 Ultra Limited fit with no problems. good luck with the trip.

Thats odd, the linked worked on my MacBook... I know the larger 5x9 will work, but will the bike specific trailer work as well for an Electra Glide? From Uhaul for the MC specific trailer:

Dimensions

  • Inside: 7'8" x 3'9.5" (LxW)
  • Ramp width: 3'9

U-haul needs to update their website. There's no way their current MC trailer is only 92" long. Below are pics of a 2020 FLTRK on a U-haul MC trailer. As you can see, there's ample room behind the Tourpak.

According to the Owner's Manual, the 2020 FLTRK has a length of 102.2".

By comparison, the 2004 FLHTP you have to pick up has an overall length of 93.7" in stock form.

Have also used the UHaul cycle trailer to move a few bikes, it was well built. Reserve it in advance though, most places only have a few of them, if that.
