Hello everyone I have a 2020 iron 883 that’s giving me headaches. I recently installed the screaming eagle big bore to 1200 kit. After getting everything installed and put back together I started it up and was happy as can be for like 15 seconds. Then she started idling rough. It sounds like it’s almost coughing out of the intake. I checked all my seals and connections everything looked good. So I finally took to a local shop and they’ve had it for months. I didn’t mind cause it was winter, but springs here and I need to be riding. Does anyone have an idea of what it could be? The shop doesn’t seem interested in fixing it so I’m thinking about taking it back and doing it myself. They already replaced the cylinder temp sensor and iac.

Welcome, you came to the right place lots of knowledgeable help here.

Start here : https://www.hammerperf.com/ttinstallkit.shtml

Read it a few times and try to refresh yourself on how your build went. Assuming it was running well before the kit was installed?

Usually it’s the simple stuff, like an intake seal leak. Good luck.

Congratulations on your first post to HDF, to the Forum.

1. Who did the upgrade from 883 to 1200.
2. What kit did you use?
3. Did you put a tuner and tune in it as the air volume tables have changed along with the fuel ratios.
4. Did you upgrade the exhaust system?
5. Did you upgrade the air filter system>

If the shop isn’t fixing it pay them for whatever labor and parts they put into it and bring it home.

^^^^^^ This. If they haven't fixed it by now chances are they don't know what's wrong either or just don't care.

Did you get your pushrods installed correctly? There are long and short ones.

^^^^^ definitely a possibility. It's a tough one to diagnose. Really the top end needs to be pulled off again and each part checked on dissassembly to see if anything was put in incorrectly by mistake. If nothing stands out, then it may be a part like the lifters or the heads. Didn't someone on here have issues with their new screamin eagle kit recently. Edit: I think I'm thinking of this thread which we never heard what the issue was.
