Default Dynojet PV4 for iOS/iPad

Hello,

We've been discussing the PV4 iOS app in another thread for a bit, I figured it might be a good time to start a dedicated iPhone thread! I'm a software engineer at Dynojet who works on the iOS side of our PV4 app, as well as a lot of our server code and sometimes even the firmware for PV4 itself. We really like to keep good contact with the community to make sure we're offering the best products that we can - obviously that's the whole point of offering anything to begin with - and my hope is that we can learn a little about what you guys are after.

I figure this may be a good place to discuss some new features we've released as well as ask for any input that you guys might have (features you'd like to see added, any questions we can answer, etc).

So to begin: We released a new update today. It's a soft release, so even if you have auto-updates turned on, if you want it *today*, you'll need to go to the app store and hit the update manually (at least for these first seven days). The version is 4.5.0.10. The new features include:
  1. iPad support! A few customers called in asking if we could add better support for iPad, so we spent some time working through all the screens to allow rotation, better use of the full screen space, etc. If you're a shop or you prefer tuning with a bigger screen, you're in luck. Autotune works especially well on the larger displays provided here.
  2. Rotation support on phones! If you like riding with your gauges up on the bars and you prefer a landscape layout, you're in luck. The app will now rotate accordingly on your iPhone.
  3. Gauge Layout! We felt that only being able to fit four gauges on the screen (if you used digital ones) was kind of limiting, so the new version of the app allows selection between a small and large gauge layout, which allows you to fit quite a few more items on the screen at once. In addition, there's a new bar gauge that replaces the graph gauge - it's a lot more helpful for visualizing channels than what we had before. We may revisit the graph gauge in the future if that's something a lot of you prefer?
  4. Active Tests. This functionality allows you to cycle components on your bike, like the fuel pump, water pump, headlight, etc etc. Handy if you're trying to diagnose an issue (like a faulty pump, etc).
  5. Service Routines. These are procedures that require a sequence of steps, which we help walk you through. Currently this includes a front and rear ABS brake bleed procedure, which allows you to cycle the ABS pump when bleeding air out of the system after working on brake components.
  6. In-App purchases. We've added "Universal Tokens" to the ways licenses and features can be unlocked. (Existing tokens still work, no changes there!!) This allows better price flexibility for you, the customer (for example, older bikes may cost less to license than before, or if you have a Grom on the side, it doesn't cost nearly as much to license as your brand new Road King). With this, we've added some convenience inside the app that'll allow you to purchase Universal Tokens directly from your iPhone without having to go to our website and log in a whole separate time.
  7. And a host of stability / quality of life fixes and improvements based on analytics / crash data from the previous releases.
Android support for all of these features is coming - we generally develop everything for iOS first, then port changes over.

In summary, is there anything else you guys would like to see in the app? Any features that would make your HD experience better?

Thanks for reading!

Respectfully,

Grant Pearson

Good question! HD substantially upped their security to keep everyone out on these newer ECU's and it's definitely taking longer than previous generations. I wish I could give you a solid answer, but new ECU dev is kept pretty tightly under wraps and I'm not at liberty to say. The official word I can share is, "as soon as possible". Its our absolute top priority.

First I have heard the PV4 will do this. Can you confirm and provide the link to your product page/technical specs as I do not see this function listed there.

Even though my bike is stock, this feature would be worth buying your product for that function. I could also load the stock enhanced tune if it will make the bike better.

Thanks -CB

Hello CoolBreeze! It's pretty new functionality (only released in this latest build) - I don't think our product team has updated the product page quite yet, but you can read about it here: https://www.dynojet.com/power-vision...ey-davidson-1/ . I know they're working on a demo video that shows how some of these new features work as well, and that should be released shortly. I can confirm that the Active Tests and ABS bleed features are available on iOS for all of our supported HD models (provided the bike has an ABS pump). As long as you don't have one of the new ECU's (2023+) you should be good to go, but I would definitely recommend going through the product fitment filter to make sure your bike is supported. Just so you're not caught off guard, the Active Tests and ABS Bleed procedures do have to be unlocked with universal tokens since they're considered more advanced functionality than flashing/autotune/etc.

Hello Bill,

For what it's worth, Power Core is only for Windows PC's - the only app we currently offer for iOS/iPadOS is the PV4 app, which you can find in the App Store by searching for "PV4" or "Dynojet PV4"

Easy, it's been released for a few months now, you may just need to update the app from the Play store!
