Default Hubcap Removal

Does anyone know how this hubcap comes off? It's on my 89 Springer Softail, but the manual says a hubcap only came on FLST models, and there was a retaining ring. This doesn't have one, and there are no instructions to be found. It could be an accessory the original owner added. Does it just pry off? I don't want to damage it. Thanks!

Spanner wrench on that retaining nut/ring and just loosen it.

Do you mean the chrome ring with the slot for the speedometer drive? Thanks

[edit:] It just pried off, first with a screwdriver then a wide chisel. The chrome ring is part of the hub.

LOL this bike was in a flood a couple years ago. Two hurricanes hit the west coast of Florida, and it was submerged up to the carburetor in salt water. I bought it cheap, and have been rebuilding it little by little: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/evo/1...-assembly.html

I recognized the bike and remembered your other thread right after I posted that.
