For those of you who got rid of the wires to your bars, what solution did you end up choosing for relocating your kill switch and starter button?

I wired some up to where my VOES previously mounted. Not sure if it will survive the hard miles, but we’ll see.

 

I got rid of my kill switch. But on road kings you got a big dash ignition switch on my ultra I try to avoid using it. Easier to replace ignition switch than kill switch bigger contacts too. But you are not breaking load

I got both started buttons from tc bros. Mechanical looks simple. The electric is small wires and makes me nervous for robustness but all the choices seemed that way. I think I will do second layer of heat shrink

They also sell a lever they show on XLs. Didn't fit my TC. Do you really need electric button? I know someone without one

 

I’ve seen Prism Supply’s lever, and the non-lever version. The mechanical button on the solenoid is probably the cleanest and best value.

I tried it on this bike, but I didn’t love that it would crank without the key. It obviously wouldn’t start, but that plus the ergonomics of it (having to start it quick if you stall, and burning ur hand on your pipe) made me want a button and switch like this.

I broke like 3 trying to fit it in there, but they come in a 12 pack for $6.

But when the hog rattles the cheap chinese solder in 100 miles, and i’m on the side of the road with no power to my coil, i’ll let you know.

 

I relocated the key to under the battery tray using a bracket from prism supply...



and wired in posh mini switches on the bars for the starter button and kill switch in stock-ish location. I will only use posh swiches and buttons. Posh switches are expensive but will last forever (made in japan).



and I use a direct starter button on the starter as well for a backup.



I originally had reservations about being able to activate the starter with the bike off but with this switch (Nash) it doesn't look like a button and you have to really push on it for it to activate.

 

I like having back up button in case of failure. Without ignition on, bike will not run. It crossed my mind what if it stuck.
