Wires thru the bars question
2000 Ultra Classic, putting Wild1 Chubby 10" bars on.
Might be a dumb question. It's been years since I ran wires thru the bars on the wife's Road King, I left the factory loom tubing on.
When you guys run your wires thru the bars, do you leave the factory plastic wire loom tubing on the wires, or do you remove the wire loom material? With the extra wiring, I'm not sure if it will be more difficult on the Ultra.
Thanks!!

My personal belief is that the factory doesn't waste a nickel on something the engineers believe isn't needed. If the factory includes the tubing on a similar wiring bundle, they believe it is needed so they won't have to do a warranty repair. How soon do you want to repeat this job so you can repair chaffed insulation after being stuck in the boonies?
Sometimes the factory sheath (wire protector) will not fit through the bars. If that is the case, take the wires out of the sheath and wrap them tight with electrical tape - or heat shrink the whole thing.
