Lol, the only thing true is it was a Harley. Was going thru old pics for one of our (41 yr old) sons, and came across this one. That was me in '74, in West Germany, near Pirmasens, Ger (West Germany then). This was a buddies new 350 Sprint he bought through the PX.
Before I went into the Army, I bought a fixer upper 250 Sprint, in 1970. Pretty torquey for a 250, and my buddies 350 was even more so. A 350 was a pretty big bike in those days, at least to me. I was 21 in that pic.
Wasn't a tourist then. I was stationed about 20km from there. I always had my camera in those days. I used to take black and white shots and develop them myself. That darkroom was about the only amenity the Army had. There was only about 160 of us stationed there so not much was available.
Yea hard to start and had the left side kick starter. Everything was backwards then, even the shifter. I was really glad when the industry came together for a standardized design of right brake and left shift. Switching from Japanese design to Italian could get you in trouble when you thought you were braking and instead you downshifted. Glad those days and ignition points are all gone.
Yes, I try to enjoy every day I can. Not near as many left as I have seen.
