Well getting the bike torn down to see what all needs fixed and upgraded. So far have found shock bolts only finger tight, entire exhaust system ready to fall off, loose hand controls, bolts missing in foot pegs and the turn signal wiring mangled by someone.
I am getting the bike torn down to find what all needs repaired or upgraded. So far have found shock bolts finger tight, entire exhaust system ready to fall off, loose hand controls, bolts missing out of foot pegs and the turn signal wiring mangled. If you buy a used bike go over it with a fine toothed comb.
This weekend I got the carburetor rebuilt, replaced the manifold gaskets, installed my new Hammer air cleaner, restored the chrome tappet cover that came off a wrecked bike, installed a top chrome engine mount, choke mount, cleaned and painted the head pipes for the exhaust.
I also test fit the new handlebars I got this week, they seem to fit perfect. I converted the riser from the bent riser on the new bikes back to the straight style from an older bike (I really dont like the new bent style). Next weekend Im going to drill the handlebars for internal wiring and I have a new set of chrome controls to install, that should keep me busy for 2 days.
If you look close you can see the top motor mount/choke mount, its a cool piece glad I found it cheap on EBay.
