Default question about rear pegs.

hey guys(and gals)i was wondering i was looking at my bike and im thinking about riding 2 up.i have an 06 train with vance and hine bss.when you lower the rear pegs it looks awful close to the exhaust.have yall had problems with the rubber melting onto the pipes?i havent tried yet im a little nervous about ruining my pipes.or does the pipe get that hot that far back?

Did you put the extension on when you put the pipes on?
Mine aren't close at all.

I've got the V+H BSS...no problems with melting with the passenger pegs. I'm not using the extensions with the pegs.

i didnt see extensions what do they look like?are they bolts or something?

My pipes came with a black peg mount that was longer than the factory one attached to the huge bracket coming off the swingarm.
It moved the peg out and clear of the pipes.

Some HD pegs have a chrome bottom so when flipped down no peg rubber facing your pipes...As for your passenger's boots...you'll just have to kindly suggest him/her to mount and ride carefully. the mr.clean magic sponge works great for taking offmelted rubber in case of an accidental boot burn.
