Default Is this normal? Belt Slim

Hi all, i noticed that the belt on my slim is rather narrow, moves from left to right. Dealer days this is normal, i think it's not.

Advice appreciated!

normal but you should check you rear wheel alignment if the belt shows edge wear.

Hi thanks for the fast response. So the belt is in fact a smaller than the, what is it called, it's in? I checked other bikes and also my old Sportster has a perfect fit. Bike brand new so assume alignment is OK. Will monitor that though...

Just because it is new doesn't mean it is good. You should check the alignment for your own peace of mind.

Depends on alignment and if you look at it after going forward or rolling backwards.

Technically...if it has teeth it is a sprocket...looks like a 20mm belt on a 1" sprocket...4 mm left over.

That space between the belt and the sprocket is normal. On most bikes when you roll the bike forward the belt will slide towards one side and when you roll it backwards re belt will slide towards the other side.

If that belt was exactly the same width as the sprocket it would probably chew up the sides of the belt and damage the edges of the sprocket.
