Default Fat Boy wheels on Heritage

Hello everyone. I asked this in the "wheels tires" forum, but was recommended to ask here. I'd like to swap out my spokes for the fatboy solids. I'm sick of spoke issues, worrying about tubes and rim strips etc......I've looked up part numbers and it seems like all I'd need is a spacer on the right instead of the hubcap/spacer assembly. My question is if anyone has done this, what tips or tricks have you got?Like offset problems, rotor clearance issues...I checked the "search" for information, but didn't see anything this specific.

I don't have fatboy wheels on my heritage, but I do have Harley slotted six spoke wheels. The spacers are the same. Before I changed wheels, I removed the hubcap and keep stock spacers. That said, my heritage is a 2006. I don't know what, if any difference there is on the 07 and up models.

Thanks for the replies! I'm gonna yank the front wheel (next week, too nice this week), and try lining it up. I bought the wheels........they need LOTS of cleaning.

I put a fatboy solid wheel on the rear of my 2000 FLSTC soon after I bought it in 2000.What I did was look at the Harley softail parts manual (not service manual). It shows the spacers for all softails and their part numbers (the front and rear fork dimensions are the same), made it easy!

Did the switch on the rear wheel....I like the ride WAY better. I tend to take off from lights and stop signs kinda hard and I noticed the "flex"? difference right away. Maybe no tube or just stiffer wheel. Looks wise you can't even tell with the soft bags on. I may keep the spokes on the front.....The more I look at it, the more they look good.

Depend on year. And could even be some conflict on the belt or rear caliper touching.
The early years 04 or so were also only 3" rim width limiting you to 150 tire.
Be sure to put a pull tape thru the hub and measure the width from the outer race. Harley kept the jumps in width pretty even and common measurements. Like you said, if you jumped to the newer 1' wider hub, then you could get a 1/2" smaller spacer. But there would be conflict other places for sure in the tire width.

Just to put the wider 160 tire on a 04 deuce, Harley had to go to 17" and the narrow belt. Think, to get the 200 on a FatBoy required an even smaller belt and lower profile tire with a 18" rim to clear caliper. The fender is 1" wider but the swing arm was the same as my 04. I had the wheels and swing arm off a 2008 (I think) but finally gave up on it and sold them since there was no wide fender available except custom.
