I have an hpi throttle body..
Bike runs erratic and performance suffered..
Indie finally found butterfly shaft was busted in half..
Indie boxes it up to and to Hpi.
They wanna fix it, check out everything else..
I think they said it's warranty work..
So I suppose it's a good outfit.
Indie likes the throttle body..idk
I really hope the turn around is quick

 

This is the second thread I've seen in the past few weeks regarding issues with HPI throttle bodies. Until recently, they seemed to have a solid reputation, though customer service is certainly favorable.

The other instance I've seen about HPI was the plastic gears stripping off teeth. Either way, I've got a build I'm considering doing this winter...not sure if HPI will be a part of that or not...

 

I have a HPI Max Flow 58/55 TB ready to go on my 117" build for my '05 Deluxe. Until now I have not heard of any issues with their TB's...I will definitely be keeping an eye on mine now.
