Just changed the rear tyre so had to drop the exhaust ...5k miles or so and pulling the covers off the exhaust, which I knew got chuffin hot at the best of times, I find that from cylinder head all the way back to the muffler bolt are all blue and gold

it is supposed to be tuned, is that because I've got the quiet baffles installed? or just the way of exhausts?

 

Thats just the way it is. Exhaust makers don't spend much time or expense on coating the inner pipe since the outer shield is whats going to be seen. Your bike may still be tuned well.

My V&H pipes are the same way.

My Ural does not have a heat shield on the exhaust until it gets back to where your foot could hit it. The exhaust turned that blue/gold color almost immediately.

 

Who gives a damn about a ural around here?
