2006 CVO 103 cam tensioner??
I am considering buying a 2006 FLSTSE CVO103 Fatboy. My question is I am aware all 2007 year model TC88's went with an updated Cam tensioner system. I have been told that the 2006 CVO 103 already has the hydrolic tensioner system unlike the TC88 motors for model year 2006. Any truth to this, or does it have the very same spring loaded cam tensioner system that fails around 25k miles?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

That bike, as does every Softail and Touring model in 2006 has spring cam chain tensioners. Depending on how the bike was ridden and number of miles it's a bit of a crap shoot if they're still good. I just changed a set that had just over 11K miles and they didn't look that bad. In my opinion, the bad part about the original shoes is that they break off in chunks. Cyco makes tensioner shoes out of better material.
If it was the bike I wanted and I didn't hear racket from the cam chest I'd buy it, but the seller would have to discount the price for my labor and parts cost to change the shoes. Below is a pic of your cam chest, number 36 and 37 are the spring tensioners.
