Default Installing Rear Lyndall Z-Plus brake pad question

Has anyone installed these on a 2010 FatBoy? In the picture there is a metal piece that clips on the inner break shoe and when I took off the old set I noticed that the upper pad has the top part of the shoe almost worn off and the outer pad still has a lot of pad left. I called Lyndall and talked to some girl and asked since this is a multiple fit if the metal clip was suppose to be on the inner shoe for my bike and she didn't know the answer for sure. If I remember correctly the OEM brake shoes doesn't have the metal clip for the inner shoe.
