Bike shut off..gear change is perfect..bike running can't change gears...new rider..2001 softail

Are you fully engaging the clutch lever? Do you pull the clutch lever all the way to the left handgrip?

If you do and still hard to change gears. You will need to adjust your clutch. Easy fix.
