Same hear 2016 Slim I lean the bike over to the left and right when hot. I do this for 15 min. Get the most oil to drain,with filter 2.5 qrts brings the level just under full after 1/2 HR RIDE My ownwers manual calls for 3 qrts oil change not fully dry 3 qrts on new models is still too much!

Thanks to all. I passed all the info to the buddy with the Softail and he's good to go. He's from the Shovelhead days (aren't we all...) and this is his first TwinCam and he was just nervous with the new engine design.

He's off riding now. Thanks again!

After reading your reply, I decided to do the same thing. Many come on here to ask questions but very few come back to thanks us for our help.

Believe the dipstick!!! The manual capacities only tell me how much oil I should have on hand before draining.
