So one thing that always irked me about my bike / all bikes in general is the ugly amber turns , smoked looks way better obviously. Im not a huge fan of amber lighting either so I looked at custom dynamics but theyre 90 bucks plus lenses .


all in all 39.63 later and about 20 minutes on eBay i have this! looks great, no hyper flash issues either. bulbs are switchback 1157 white/amber, fender tip light i used a amber LED 194 bulb , smoked fender tip lense is still in the mail , 2 smoked turn lenses and walllaaaa. links to the stuff i bought will follow. now just need some LED headlights to bring it all in!


these stay white and when the turn signal or flashers are hit they turn amber and flash and then return back to white after the cycle is turned off. love it!

To each their own, but why anyone would put on lenses that REDUCE the light coming from their signal lamps baffles me.

I went a different route on mine. I used clear lenses with amber bulbs in front and red lenses in back for an old school look.

 

the smoked doesn't make a difference when you add LED bulbs. Just as bright if not brighter.

 

My Warrior had smoked signals all the way around (since they are Yamaha's I don't think the light is diminished) and when I took them off I put them in a box. About a year later I started building a "Clone XLCR" and thought how awesome they would look on it, I did however keep the amber reflector on the fork leg, didn't want to vary too far from stock. I know the blinkers are not 'stock' but I'll let the next guy worry about it, lol (BTW, I put Arlen Ness on my Warrior)

 

What exactly are we looking at?

After and then before pics? The last pic doesn't look there is any light on, it looks like an amber lens with no light behind it. The amber with the light behind it looks weak in general.

 

the pictures loaded funny for some reason but what your looking at is the factory amber lenses with clear 1157 bulbs that stay amber and then flash amber. I bought 1157 switchbacks that stay white and then flip to amber for the turn signal and then go back to white just like your custom dynamics do. Basically the smoked lense and switchbacks are achieving the same thing as custom dynamics. just another way to do it. the smoked looks so much nicer than the amber.

 

and by the way... I paid 13 and change for both 1157s , the ones you posted a link to were 15 a piece.

 

I guess what I need to see is a smoked lens with the amber switched on behind it.

Did you do anything with the rear turn lights?

 

I have the HD module for my rear lights that make them running and turns also. didn't do them in LED or anything yet.


I have a video of the turns working but I just don't know how to load it on here yet. let me play around for a few minutes and see if I can get the video up here to show you!
