I have a 2005 softail deluxe with 39" Samson duals. I'd like to get some passengers floorboards but I'm not sure if they will work with the exhaust. I have read some people say heritage passenger floorboard kit will work, others say you just need a different mount for the right side? Has anyone successfully put passenger floorboards on a softail deluxe with Samson duals, and if so can you please give me some insight on what parts I need? Thank.

The standard Harley Passenger floorboards for the Heritage/Deluxe work fine with Samson duals.

 

On my 2012 Deluxe, I had to buy a different mount for the passenger side floorboard mount . Here are the part numbers I used, but I am not sure if they will work for your 05. Beware that these parts are in a matte finish, so if you want it to match, you will have to rattle can them or get them powder coated. Good luck

Ordered them and sure enough right side doesn't bolt up. How do you guys say deluxe kit works? Right side bracket does not bolt right to frame, it doesn't line up.

 

Eldeluxo I think you are right. The right see needs to look the exact same as the left side.

 

I had to get the brackets when I went to true duals. I originally had the deluxe style floorboards, with the shotgun style exhaust. I ended up ordering the parts above to make it work with the true duals. As you said, it will end up matching how the left side is mounted (with the bracket surrounding the large round bolt)

 

I used mini boards (Kuryakyn kinetic) that attached to the stock peg standoffs on my 06 Luxe. Took 5 minutes to install and are plenty large enough (4"x5") for everything but a cross country ride.

Djdeluxe I wish I would've known. I'm in a lot of money on these HD passenger boards �� The girls better enjoy these things lol
