Default Pros/cons recommendation engine guard

Wondering if anybody could post up some pictures and offer their opinions for a engine guard on a vivid black Softail deluxe. Debating if I should go chrome or black but would like to see pictures. Not sure if I would go with the mustache type or standard. Thx all

I'd never put engine guards on a non-bagger. Ruins the look of the bike in my useless opinion.

To each his own.

I think they came stock on my 2016 Heritage. I really do like the look. I'll offer this piece of advice, though. If you get to pick, you might consider the mustache type bars simply to avoid the cost of having to add highway pegs later, assuming your legs will reach the footpads on those comfortably.

I ended up having to add the pegs. I do like them, though, but wonder how much different it would have been if I didn't need them.

Might be able to see from my sig pic, not sure.

Okay, sig pic too small. Here's an actual pic, from the front. I know it's not the same bike as yours, but sharing anyway.

I agree they don't look so good, but I need somewhere to put highway pegs for when we go on our annual ride which is usually 3000 miles plus. So it isn't so much about looks, I want the best looking one possible but it's more a matter of a necessity. That said, I would like to get opinions of people that have them and pictures so I can make the best choice possible.

Since you indicated you simply wanted highway pegs, I thought I'd send you this link I saw when browsing Kurakyn today. (Having trouble finding the right passenger floorboard/peg setup for the wife.)

Those might work on the frame, without having to add an engine guard at all. Not sure, but might be worth a look. (Thank god for Chrome history or I'd never have found it again.)

Get the Lindby Linbar. Totally metal. Just be careful which one you get for Softail.

To clarify - there's a Linbar for Softails with floorboards and one for those with pegs. They aren't interchangeable. I can't recall the model numbers but it was a bit of an alphabet soup to decipher. They'll tell you exactly which one if you need.
