Default What's this hole on my fatboy?!

I've had my bike four years (from new) and never noticed this threaded hole before. Which makes me worried that something should be screwed into it. It's on the exhaust side, below the oil tank on the extension from the transmission that attaches to the swing arm pivot (left of picture). Can others with a 2007+ fatboy check the same area on their bike and tell me what I'm missing? Thanks very much in advance!

Peg....my 2008 is the same as yours. I was worried that I somehow lost a bolt but after seeing yours I guess I don't have to worry!

Gremlin hole. Originally, a threaded cap goes in there. It's made to fall out when the bike comes out of warranty and sets the gremlin loose.

It's not a real softail unless you have one.

It's a good place to put a valve for air suspension.

Put a bolt in it and it's no longer an idle hole.

When I saw the thread title I thought....

Never mind, I'm not even going to say what I was thinking.
