Default I removed the plastic film under the rear seat, and most of the adhesive stayed on the fender. Help!

Hi everyone, like the title says, I removed the protective plastic film under the rear seat so I can just run a solo seat most of the time. Unfortunately, a lot of the adhesive stayed on the fender, and so far, tried Goof Off, and Krud Kutter but they did not help much. I don't want to scratch or damage the paint, and am trying to be very careful. The plastic protector was bubbled and wrinkled, and looked pretty bad for this being only a couple of months old bike. I did a search on this topic, but did not come up with much, and what I did find was over 10 years old. Does anyone know of a better product that will work without damaging the shiny new paint? I appreciate any help or ideas anyone can come up with.

Thanks for the replies, I will try the WD 40, and if that doesn't work, pick up some Goo Gone when I am out tomorrow. This adhesive is thicker than any I have encountered in the past. In retrospect, I probably should have used heat to help the film and adhesive come off easier.

I have used zippo lighter fluid to remove residue before. however I have not used on Harley paint. works great for boot scuffs on exhaust. (let the pipes cool first) tee hee!

I had the same thing on a brand new bike, bubbled up and looking like crap. But I will sometimes ride 2 up so I bought it back and had the dealer change it.

If it's a solid panel of adhesive you might want to try heating it with a hair dryer, then quickly put some gorilla tape strips on it and get some of it up that way. Then Goo Gone the remainder. Using WD40 or Goo Gone on a think slab of glue is a long road.
