Wishing for a 114 HD Softail Sport
After owning more than can be counted two wheeled motorized vehicles since sometime in the ........er....ah......'50's to include a lot of sport and sport touring bikes, mostly BMW's since about '72....and now 4 HD's in the last 4 years, '06 EG Classic,'13RK, '14RK and now my '18 114 Heritage Classic as part of the stable. Would love to see HD add to the Softail line my dream HD.
A Softail Sport 114.
Can you imagine a new Softail Sport Model, stock on the showroom floor, two into one exhaust from the new Softail Sport Glide with the Screaming Eagle can, now with mid controls that fit because of the 2 into 1, 114 motor with the torque cam and full Screaming Eagle ECU update and of course the 5 gal fuel tank. It would be full EPA sound and emission compliant.
Talk about a fun and exciting motorcycle. Done properly a classic looking, sporting, low maintaince (Hydraulic Valves, Belt drive) and very reliable bike. A torque monster, as you know, Horse Power is fun some of the time, Torque is fun all of the time.
Built from the Fatbob, ie inverted forks and dual discs with standard size tires front and back with cast wheels. No Ape hangers or faux Ape Hangers.
The absolutely best of two worlds, the Sport Glide and Fat bob.

That does sound like a lot of fun. I think if the Sport had come out with the 114 and dual disc (without raising the price) it would be THE model many people would be buying. It looks like new model releases are going to be a little more of a thing than years passed with everyone hoping their lottery version shows up on the floor. Should be interesting to see what 100 versions they come up with over the next 10 years.

If HD would build another FXR I'd buy one today. Best EVO bike ever built and they still demand top dollar.
Oh, and they can ****-can their new M8 in it too. Give me back an old 80" EVO and I'll punch it out myself. The can keep their EFI, EMITS, TBW and everything else they've created that's junk.

The M8 is here to stay. Like it or lump it. So is ABS, EFI, digital info, and all that jazz. The new S model will have the M8 114, mids, 17" 160 rear tire, drag style or tracker bars, 4.7 or 5 gal tank, cruise control, and a speed screen. Hopefully colors besides Default Black. It's a comin says I.

I wish that the Sport had come out earlier. I got a Fat Bob S at the beginning of the model year. When I saw the Sport I felt it was the perfect all around bike but should have the 114.
Then I heard there is a 124 kit for the 114. Went to the dealer and they are checking on it. They also said the take off parts plus a gasket set, labor and tuner would drop into the 107. So two upgrades for a little more than the price of one.
Some thought the 124 kit was a SE HD kit and some thought it was aftermarket.
If it is a SE kit I'm in and the Sport will be added.
