I just removed the tank on my 17 Breakout to do bars and I did not want gas everywhere, I bought a Fuel Tool at the Dealer. It was worth every penny as far as I'm concerned, Barely a drop when I cut the crossover, you can take it with you when you ride to share gas if someone runs out of gas on a ride.

I’m thinking about installing jiffy tite quick disconnect fittings to avoid the mess the next time...

 

well i figured i work too much and have 0 time to work on bike - i took it to harley and they found two spots that were causing the problems - it would have taken me forever to find it.
