Are fork slider covers necessary?

Wait... What?
On what kinda bike? No, they are not needed on any bike but... are you talking FX or FL bike? FL bikes "can" look utterly stupid without them and FX bikes "can" look utterly stupid with them.

The bike in question is an FL, but it’s in the process of being bobbed. Therefore, this particular FL would look terrible with the slider covers on. Thanks
