But my issue is a bit different as I can smell gas fumes whenever I stop the bike, like at a traffic light or just after parking.
Today was 75* outside and I could smell gas fumes at most stop lights. I checked for obvious fuel leaks and everything looks dry. Called the dealer and he said that he wasn't sure what was going on but that I should drop the bike off to him. The problem is he is 60 miles away and I need to have my wife follow me there to pick me up.
The funny thing is I don't notice any gas fumes when I park the bike in the garage. Only while riding and either stopping at a light or just after parking.

Well today I found the reason I am smelling gas fumes at stop lights.
I was leaving the house with the engine cold, and just after riding away I realized I forgot something in the garage. I went around the block and parked the bike in the driveway leaving the bike idle while I went back into the garage to get what I had forgot. When returning back to the bike while it was still idling I noticed a puddle of raw fuel dripping on the ground from behind the engine on the left side near the belt guard. When I turned off the engine the dripping fuel stopped within a few moments. So it seems that the dripping fuel is related to the engine running and it can happen whether the engine is cold or hot.

A bit of an update.
Took the bike to the dealer and he called Harley to see what they had to say.
They agreed to replace the fuel pump assembly. So it has be about a 100 miles since the fuel pump has been replaced and so far no more gas dripping or gas fumes when stopped. Hope this info. might help someone else.
