I bought a Kuryakyn Extended Brake Pedal and I went to you tube to see how to install it,they said the hardest part is pulling the cotter pin out of the rear master cylinder and that it's in a hard place to reach,so I looked at my master cylinder and noticed mine was almost sticking out and easy to get to,the video I was watching didn't say the year it was so I figured they were later ones and they changed where they put them.
Has anyone installed one on a 2006 or later that could give me some advice I would appreciate it.

has anyone ever used kuryakyn extended brake pedal on a older softail from 2005 - 2009,just want to no how the installation went.

 

I put one on my 09 Heritage and don't remember it being a problem at all. If I recall the hardest part was removing the floor board. It also had a zerk grease fitting on it too. I liked it very much

 

thats good news all this while I was watching them install them on you tube and they were newer harleys,and they were taken crash guards off fairings and some times exhaust so thanks appreciate that.

I installed one on my 06 Heritage many years ago, and the best I can remember, getting the clevis pin out was the hardest part. I do know it’s much more comfortable on my ankle when applying the brakes

 

Just got them today going to install this weekend,I sat on one at harley and they feel great I can keep my foot right over the brake and not have to lift my leg up.

I added a "Softbrake" extended pedal and extended shifter to my 05 Fatboy. Easy job, remove the floorboard to gain access 15-20 minutes.

But if your bike is the one in you avatar, you have a classic engine guard, be careful because it puts the pedal very close to the engine guard and withour practice it is easy to step on the engine guard or get you toe through the pedal and guard. Also if you have highway pegs on the engine guard be sure the pedal does not make contact with them.

Lindby does not recommend extended pedal with their guards. I have the HD classic guard on my fatboy and Im good using the extended brake pedal, it just took a little practice to only use the toe, if i hit the pedal with the ball of my foot , my toe will contact the guard and you cant press all the way on the brake.

You can see it in the signature picture, it is lower, flatter and more forward than the stock pedal

All that said I would not ride without it, much more comfortable , gives you a lot more room to use the whole floorboard to move foot position from mid control position to forward.
