Default Need new forks for 09 night train

Looking to get new forks, preferably inverted, built for my 09 night train. Put a 23in front wheel on it and it just sits too high and seems to walk a little. Cant do anything with the inverted HD forks on it now so gotta get a new set. Looking to go maybe an inch or so under stock. Any ideas or suggestions to what rake I'll need to get correct trail for the drop with the 23in wheel? Any ideas on direction on forks to go with? Will be dropping the rear as well. Need to get that fender to sit down over that wheel. Any suggestions on any/all of it is appreciated. Thanks.

Sits way too high.

Take the tubes out and bring them to a machine shop to get 2” taken out of them.

One thing you could try is to raise the forks in the triple tree. Your not running a front fender so you could slide the fork tubes up in the clamps an inch or so and see if that make a difference. As long as the tubes are the same diameter top to bottom it shouldn't be an issue at all. Standard tire on the Night Train was a 21 so you could raise the forks an inch and a half to be back to stock ride height if you have the room under the bottom tree and clearance with the frame to be able to turn. Good luck on your project.......

Yeah, I talked to a guy about that and he said it wouldn't work with that design. That and I don't think I'd like the look. Maybe for something temporary but definitely not permanent. That and I do wanna put a fender on it, just wanna take care of the forks first.

I really didn't even think that was an option without it changing everything else, springs,, rideability... but still wouldn't I need it to have a slight rake for correct trail?

Not that I've seen. I've called everywhere, and nobody makes anything for it.

-2” is going to be minimal. I’ve been running -4” for years and really didn’t ever notice it. Never felt the need to check r & t.

None of those will work. These aren't night train forks. These are aftermarket forks made for harley davidson by another company. Harley don't even work on these forks. Believe me I've tried every harley dealership in the houston area. Reason why I'm looking for a company who builds inverted forks.
