Anyone else have this issue?
Camera/photo playing tricks on my eyesight. Saw the drip, then wondered whats up with the crumpled looking filler cap.
It use to be oil leaks were from the bottom, then came the filler cap, and breather. It's a Harley.

After further review of this photo, I noticed its not coming from the weld as I initially thought. I can now clearly see that its coming from the top and sliding down. Well, I still have to stop by Harley anyway because my instrument control panel module is inoperable for the left turn signal. This should be covered under extended warranty. If not, for $65 I’ll change it out myself.
Softails do this. Clearly you didn't search prior to posting. I'm on my third dipstick and have a blank of aluminum I'm going to machine down to fit standard o-rings and will never have that issue again.
The important question here is; what type of oil are you running?

I am actually glad you brought this issue up. I routinely take my MC to H-D for Oil Change/Service and it seems to be happening a lot especially if my speeds exceed 80 mph. I will check the oil level and adjust to remedy the issue. I will consider a thin gasket for the oil tank cap, too.
Here’s what I noticed, it does it only after I check the oil.
The oil is on the rubber and gets pushed up to the rim under the cap. That oozes out after a few minutes and then a little later after the engine heats up.

Re-read my post, I thought it was a WELD issue NOT an overflow issue. Also followed up with a comment stating I later noticed it was coming from on top.
The only post where you mentioned the weld is when you said it wasn't coming from the weld as you initially thought. You said it was a manufacturer defect, which it is. The rubber on the dip stick dries out ever time and it leaks. It's annoying. I don't post without reading things. I'm here to be helpful and provide insight based on many years of riding and building motorcycles. I was simply pointing out that this is a common issue and a search would have provided you hours of reading.
