Hey guys, I am considering buying a 2013 softail deluxe.

This bike is pretty unique because it is basically brand new. The dealership is willing to sell it for $15,200. To me that seems kind of pricey for a 8 year old bike, but I doubt I could fine another one in that kind of condition.

Thoughts?

 

If you want it because of what it is, that's a choice you'll have to make. If it's because you want a bike, no way I'd pay that much for that bike when you can buy a new one for a little more and have a warranty.

Edit: checking out the used inventory, that dealer is charging more for used bikes than MSRP when they were new. No way I'd shop there.

 

There is a reason so many refer to the 'dealer' as the 'stealer'.

 

Do the homework do the and walk away.

 

The bike only has 20 miles on it so they are trying to get new price for a 8 year old bike. I'd take a hard pass on that bike. You can get a 2018 Heritage with around 10,000 miles on it for a few grand more.

 

That's pricy for a 2013.

I know here in SoCal prices are higher due to high demand Vicla Culture . I picked up my 2011 for $12500 in very goood condition . Even that was high I thought . I would think you can pay that range . My color is more rare also . The one your looking at is pretty common .

 

A 2012 for $12,500 2-3 years ago with under 2,000 miles and included a windshield. I thought I overpaid, but it was a paint scheme I had been looking for. While the asking price seems high for the bike you are considering, it is only an "asking price".

 

Here's my two cents having just purchased a 2010 in Canada. Unfortunately the deluxe is in high demand as said before because everyone and their sister wants to make a cholo style bike(thanks to a certain television show). I would keep looking because 15kUSD is like 20k CAD. Though it's going to be increasingly hard to find one as time goes by. Have you considered searching out of state and shipping the bike? In the end, I hope you make the right decision for you.
