Default Used 2017 Heritage Softail - thoughts?

Looking for some thoughts on possibly picking up a used 2017 Heritage Softail from a local dealer. Price is $16,980, but the bike only has 5600 miles. Bone stock & clean. Only addition is a usb charger on the bars. It’s clean, but no warranty due to age.

Wouldn’t be my first twin cam (had a 2000 Springer and a 2013 Road King). I’m not afraid to wrench on them and if I purchase the first thing I’ll get with it is a factory service manual.

Looking for any gotchas I should watch out for. Bike has cruise & abs but no security system.

If it could be had for that OTD, that would be a pretty good deal. Put tax and DMV on that # plus whatever else the bandits tack on . . .
Not so good.

I may try to see how much they’ll come down … worth a shot. I figure the bike should be solid given the mileage, and the last hear for the TC in that bike so … I’ll holler at my salesman tomorrow

Anything out of the ordinary I should be checking? I’m guessing this one was either a repo that sat in a warehouse for a long time or was a garage queen. Either way lots of sitting - wasn’t sure if there were any seal / gasket issues or anything.

Fuel additive / cleaner? Make sure oil is changed? Anything else?

2017, i'd do all the fluids with my choice, all adjustments to my preference, and hope like hell the previous owner knew how to ride.
IMHO 17K a lil high, negotiate that. In the end, it's all about what you want and what youre comfortable with.

Yep, fluids. New gas in the tank. I'd chk the tires. They're probably original. If it's that clean, it was probably stored indoors.
I'd just check em real close. They should still be fine.

Thanks all. Going to test ride it on Tuesday. May be looking at another one at a different dealer too - same year, slightly more mileage (9800) but it’s two-toned red, has slip ons, led lighting and the speedo with the tach built in. Decisions decisions. I almost feel better about that one; it hasn’t sat as much

Just because it's been sitting up is not a bad thing. My earlier advice is what I do with anything used.
Dealers always jack the price up, you can get them to come down, everything is negotiable.
