I have recently bought some saddlebags that I was told would suit my FLSTF 05 Fatty, however I think I may have been dudded. The fender bolts are 23cm (9 inches) apart, but the brackets on the saddle bags are only 17cm (6.7 inches) apart. Do I have the wrong bags? Do I have to find different saddlebags, or are there brackets available? Any help appreciated.

More info on the saddlebags like make, model, who said they would fit....?

And more info on the brackets like make, model, are they for the specific bags or generic aftermarket...?

Just based on what you have posted about the difference in the mounting bolt spacing, is sounds like you got the wrong bags... But that doesn't necessarily mean you can't make them work...

 

 

Am I missing something here? It appears in your photo that the holes line up?

My fault. I accidentally posted my saddlebag pics on the wrong post. However, I could use some help. I would like to know the order of sequence for the nuts and bolts that hold the brackets and bags on. I noticed that I have a small gap between my fender and strut. Should I install a nylon washer there to protect the paint? My FSM only has info on the heritage style bags. Sorry to the original poster for hijacking your thread. Thanks for all of your help.
