The picture shows the frame with the steering head outer race removed.

There is nothing else to be removed from that steering head.

Here`s my `89 Softail frame with the outer race removed:

The pic in post#1 still has the Race installed.

If needed use the maginifier on your viewing device


But ... Maybe you meant your pic, but said "The pic" (which threw off) instead of "This pic" or "My pic"

Ok, then you were wrong after all, the pic in post #1 still has the Race.

The OP said the outer races were removed in his pic.

Even when the races are removed, it still looks like there is a detail pressed into the neck.

That is one skill I never acquired in all my years of working on cars, bikes, or boats.... I really wish I had someone teach me how to weld...

Run a ring of weld around the race and it will fall out when it cools and contracts.
