Default 2005 Softail standard

I bought a 2005 fxsti a while back low miles (15k) it had sweep exhaust I really did not like so I recently put a set of short shots on it, it was running fine but then I took it for a spin and on the way home it started missing and sputtering, does anyone think that going from the open sweeps to the short shots caused the computer to cause this?

You probably need a different tune for the short shots. They are notoriously difficult to tune due to the short pipe length

So, you replaced the "sweep" exhaust with a set of V&H Short Shots and there were no "missing and sputtering" issues? But sometime later, the "missing and sputtering" presented?

There are many causes of missing and sputtering but if the missing and sputtering did not present as soon as the exhaust was changed, the tune is not the issue. What other modifications have been made? Was the motor dyno tuned with the sweep exhaust? Were the exhaust gaskets changed when the exhaust was changed?

Provide some more information and maybe we can figure out what is going on.

That year doesn’t have o2 sensors if it is injected. So it’s not going to adjust itself for an exhaust change.
