Default Floor boards dug in

Came upond this during Americade week. Upper New York Adirondack Museum.
You could see where the floor boards dug into road. Down hill, slight twistyS bends.
Motorcycle flipped we believe twice. 1 on road than over guide rail.

Man I know scraped my Soft Tail alot. Thank God I never Dug in.

So that is what the bottom of a softail looks like?
My floorboards fold up on my Fatboy. If others do the same thing, I wonder
why the wrecked one 'dug in'?
Not a pretty site for sure.

"Dug In", could be a euphemism for "leaned over far enough that the frame rails drug"....

Ditto. Floorboards fold up. Something else happened before the floorboards got wrecked. I scrape my floorboards regularly. I worry only about getting over far enough to catch the muffler bracket or something else solidto the frame.

I don't see how you could dig a floorboard in and have that happen.
I think its far more likely that a newer rider or unfamiliar either with the road or the bike might have been going atad too fast around the curve and was getting a littletoo close to the guard rail wires.
Get too close and a newer guys is likely to start staring at them instead of where he wants to go.
And anyone who's had any training (the good kind) will tell you that if you stare at something youWILL rideright into it.
The end result will be the bike getting intoandover those kind of wires just like that.
