BadBoys had black springers, not chrome.

Look at the VIN # on the frame. The 5th & 6th letters/digits will be "BP" if it's a BadBoy FXSTSB. If it's a regular Springer, FXSTS, they'll be "BL".

well hes the type that if a fxsts he will still swear its a bad boy. you see he paid $16,000.00 at a dealer last year for it. its a 96. i had just bought my fxstc, 90, for $9,000. oh well, everybody wants to think hes got a smokin deal, but you hardley ever get that from a dealer, i bought mine from a private party. i dont really care if its a bad boy, it just pisses me off to hear some one trying to make something into something its not. i forwarded him you alls replys, thanks

Holy Ba-Jesus, $16,000 for a '96. I dont care if its a gold plated Bad Boy he got robbed, did he report this to the local Police ??? I paid $16,200 for my brand new 2005 FXSTSI three months ago. Maybe just tell him its a Bad Boy to help heal the wounds, YIKES !!!!

thats what i told him. he thinks its worth $18,000.00. i told him he better sell it and he could buy a new softail heritage, with a gurantee. like i said, i paid $9,000.00 for my 90 fxstc and have at least 4-5 thousand in it. but thats a bdl 3 inch belt drive, with custom cover, new kuryakyn zombie pegs, new apes with chrome switches and new tires chrome calipers and so on. its a competition thing with him. he wants me to be jelous of his bike but i like mine, drives him nuts. i figure we buy the bike we like, or can afford, and try, when money permits, to make it into what we want, but most people dont need some one to be jelous of it to make themselfs feel good, unless were really insecure about it.

Has the brah-in-law gotten back to you with the VIN to tell what bike he actually has?

I looked up the KBB trade in & retail values - $8,905, & $13,125. And even if it has a buncha extra chrome doo-dads, they don't add much to the value. One man's chrome is another man's nightmare!
